Secondary Cancer
After being told I had secondary cancer, the medical advice that I received was not to get too stressed!! In addition, to take any holidays in the next 6 to 9 months, as they expect the Cancer to manifest itself and the treatment starting. I decided I had to do something no matter what; I increased my searching of the internet and by chance heard a radio broadcast from a professor Margaret Rayman of the University of Surrey. In June 2008 I sent an email to professor Rayman and received the following reply:-
Dear ChrisI am so sorry you are having this experience. You can get my book (The Prostate Care Cookbook) for only £8.44 (incl delivery) on Amazon and it does talk about men with cancer that has returned and gives some evidence. There are 48 pages of science describing the studies and food sources. I think you should start now and eat according to our recommendations. They will certainly not do you any harm and psychologically it is better for you to be proactive and it may even help your immune response. I should take a selenium supplement as well - try 200 mcg/d probably as selenium-yeast.Best of luck.MargaretMargaret Rayman BSc DPhil (Oxon) RPHNutrProfessor of Nutritional MedicineProgramme Director Nutritional Medicine MSc ProgrammeNutritional Sciences DivisionFaculty of Health and Medical SciencesUniversity of SurreyGuildford GU2 7XHENGLAND
I have bought the book and try to eat as described, also every day I now take the following:-
